Scott Safety opens new facility in Houston
MONROE, N.C. -- Scott Safety, a manufacturer of respiratory, personal protective equipment and safety devices, has announced the opening of a new service and training facility in Houston to support its growing customer base in flame and gas detection.
Located in East Belt Industrial Park, Pasadena, Texas, the 10,000-sq ft facility will provide flame, fixed and portable gas detection partners and end users with technical and service support in late 2013.
The new facility will enable Scott Safety to provide its customers in the U.S. with local flame and gas detection products and service. In early 2014, the new facility will also begin to serve as the regional Scott Safety training location. It's on-site training suite will provide a forum for customers to recieve training and hands-on experience with Scott Safety's product range.
Scott Safety products provide protection from environmental hazards including smoke, toxic fumes, combustible gases, falling objects and flame contaminants and are designed to deliver five key components: optimum protection, simplicity of use, user comfort, lower total cost of ownership and simple maintenance.
The Scott product line includes self-contained breathing apparatus, supplied air and air-purifying respirators, flame and gas detection instruments, thermal imaging cameras, air compressors, accountability systems, head, eye and face protection, and firefighter and personal protective clothing.
“With Houston being the epicenter of the oil and gas industry, it was imperative that we create a facility that provides our customers with dedicated, superior service and support capabilities so that they can perform their jobs safely. The goal of the service center is to establish a global gas detection center of excellence for service, technical support and training that will enable us to respond to customer needs quickly and efficiently,” said Bob Vigdor, Director of Sales, Flame and Gas Detection, Scott Safety.
