RWE unit awarded Two new production licenses in Norway

HAMBURG -- RWE said the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy has offered its RWE Dea unit two new production licenses, one of which is an operatorship. RWE Dea will become operator of a new production license with a 40% share, which increases the company' s total number of operatorships to seven on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. The new production license PL694 is located in the northern part of the Norwegian Sea. RWE Dea has also been awarded a 20% share in the production license called PL682 in the northern part of the North Sea.

"With these new licenses we will strengthen our position in two of our core areas, whilst also consolidating and further developing our standing as a long term player in Norway," Hans-Joachim Polk, Managing Director of RWE Dea said.
