Petrobras' crude production drops in July

SAO PAULO -- Brazilian state-run energy giant Petroleo Brasileiro, or Petrobras, saw its domestic crude oil output drop 4.6% in July versus June, reversing an increase in the previous month due to maintenance shutdowns at some of its oil platforms.
Petrobras said domestic crude oil output totaled 1.888 million barrels a day in July, down from 1.979 million barrels a day in June. Output from overseas operations totaled 116,675 barrels a day, down 19% compared with the previous month.
"The decrease in July was due to scheduled maintenance shutdowns on [certain] Campos basin platforms, in addition to the completion of an extended well test in the Sapinhoa Norte field, in the Santos basin pre-salt, operated by the itinerant production unit FPSO Cidade de Sao Vicente. In September, a new extended well test will be carried out in the Lula Extremo Sul area," the company said.
