Peru' s President to meet with Repsol Chairman in Lima
BY RYAN DUBE
LIMA -- Peruvian President Ollanta Humala is planning to meet with the head of Repsol, a spokeswoman for the president said.
Mr. Humala is scheduled to meet in Lima with Repsol' s chairman and CEO Antonio Brufau. The meeting comes a few days after Peruvian Prime Minister Juan Jimenez confirmed that the government is interested in buying a minority stake in Repsol' s La Pampilla refinery in Peru.
Mr. Jimenez said last week that Petroperu, is studying the possibility of taking a stake in the refinery. He said at the time that no offer has been made.
The president' s spokeswoman was unable to confirm if Mr. Humala and Mr. Brufau will discuss La Pampilla. A representative from Repsol wasn' t available for comment.
Repsol has been selling some of its assets, and earlier this year, it sold off a minority holding in Peru LNG, which produces LNG.
