Pertamina buying Anadarko Indonesian units
BY ANDREAS ISMAR
JAKARTA--Indonesian state-owned Pertamina is taking over three local units of Anadarko Petroleum Corp. operating in East Kalimantan.
It is acquiring Anadarko Ambalat Ltd., Anadarko Bukat Ltd. and Anadarko Indonesia Nunukan Co., it said in a statement. It didn't say what it is paying or when.
"The acquisition...opens access for Pertamina to explore potential site near Bunyu and Tarakan. This will also give Pertamina the opportunity to improve its deep-water operations," it added.
Anadarko Ambalat and Anadarko Bukat own 33.75% of the Ambalat and Bukat blocks. Anadarko Indonesia Nunukan owns 35% of the Nunukan block near the Indonesia and Malaysia border on Borneo.
