PWA expands European operations with appointment of new Engineering Manager
ABERDEEN -- Produced Water Absorbents, Inc., (PWA) of Ohio, USA, has expanded its European operations with the appointment of Ian Robertson as Engineering Manager.
PWA provides produced water treatment solutions to the oil and gas industry. The company was incorporated in June 2011 and has its global headquarters in Wooster, Ohio.
Mr. Robertson will be based in Aberdeen and will direct and coordinate the activities of the engineering function, such as developing engineering solutions utilising company technology by designing components and systems. He will also look to resolve customer problems using solutions that involve new techniques, technologies, or concepts.
Mr. Robertson began his career as a Fabricator/Welder before moving up to Fabrication Supervisor with Wear Engineering Ltd in Sunderland. After undertaking a five year part-time degree programme, he graduated from Sunderland University in 1998 with a BA (Hons) in Information Technology.
In 1997, after a two year spell as a Computer Technician with the Local Education Authority, Mr. Robertson returned to Wear Engineering in a Project Engineer position. After four years, he joined Pearson Engineering Services in Newcastle as Project Manager, managing all aspects of the manufacture of Subsea ROV’s and Cable Laying Ploughs.
In 2004, Mr. Robertson relocated to Montrose, Scotland, to work for Merpro Ltd as Project Manager and prior to joining PWA, he worked at CETCO Oilfield Services in Aberdeen for seven years, where he quickly progressed from Senior Project Manager to Engineering Manager - Eastern Hemisphere in 2007 and was later promoted to Engineering and Operations Manager - Eastern Hemisphere in 2010.
