PGNiG discovers conventional gas deposit in Poland
WARSAW--State-controlled gas firm PGNiG SA has discovered a new conventional natural gas deposit in western Poland that may contain about 1 Bcmof gas, the Rzeczpospolita daily reported Friday, citing unnamed sources.
Last year, PGNiG produced 4.3 billion cubic meters of gas from its own deposits and has been looking for unconventional gas in Poland's shale rock formations.
The company relies chiefly on Russian imports. Poland's total annual gas consumption is 14.5 billion cubic meters.
