Lukoil buys 25% stake in Sierra Leone offshore project

MOSCOW -- Lukoil has acquired a 25% stake in an offshore project in the Gulf of Guinea, off the shore of Sierra Leone, the company said in a statement. Lukoil acquired the stake from Talisman Energy, the project operator, the company said. The other project parties are Petronas 25% and the Prontinal 20%.

The block has an area of approximately 2,200 sq km and borders on another block where Lukoil is the operator of exploration and development. Lukoil did not disclose the financial details of the deal.
