Keppel gets $420 million contract from Pemex to build two rigs

SINGAPORE -- Keppel said  that it has received a $420 million contract from Pemex, to build two jack up rigs. Keppel will deliver the two rigs in the first quarter of 2015 to the Mexican national oil company, according to a statement from the world' s biggest rig builder.

Pemex, the world' s fourth largest crude producer at 2.5 mmbd, expects to invest up to $2.4 billion in 2012 in exploration, according to the statement. The company plans to have 40 rigs eventually operating in Mexican waters, it added, without giving details.
