ExxonMobil starts offshore Angola Kizomba project
BY ANGEL GONZALEZ
HOUSTON--ExxonMobil has announced the start of production at the Kizomba Satellites Phase 1 project offshore Angola.
The project ultimately will produce 100,000 bopd from two large deepwater fields, Mavacola and Clochas. The project was completed ahead of schedule, said Neil Duffin, president of ExxonMobil Development Company, in a statement.
The initial phase of the Kizomba Satellites project ties 18 new wells to two existing FPSO production facilities that are gathering production from other oil fields in Block 15.
Exxon owns 40% of the block. Its partners are BP, Eni and Statoil.
