Eni makes first oil discovery in offshore Ghana block
ROME -- Eni, said it made the first "important" oil discovery in an offshore block in Ghana with the potential for commercial development. In a statement, Eni said the discovery was made in the offshore Cape Three Points block, confirming its importance in terms of presence of oil, as well as natural gas and condensates.
Eni, which has been operating in Ghana since 2009, operates the OCTP block with a 47.2% stake, while Vitol Upstream owns a 37.8% share and GNPC has the remaining 15% holding.
