BY LIAM MOLONEY
ROME -- Eni Wednesday said it has been awarded four exploration licenses in the Barents Sea, offshore Norway, as Italy's biggest energy company by market value is committed to expand in the hydrocarbon-rich Northern European country.
In a statement, Eni said it was awarded the four licenses, three of which as operator, by the Norwegian government following the 22nd international licensing round that ended Wednesday.
The Rome-based company, which has been operating in Norway since 1964, has a daily oil production in the country of about 111,000 bbl.
