EIA: U.S. natural gas demand up 7% in November vs. year earlier

NEW YORK -- U.S. natural-gas consumption climbed 7% in November from a year earlier and was the highest on record for the month on Energy Information Administration record-keeping that began in 2001, the EIA said.

Total gas demand was 2.154 Tcf in the month, the EIA said. Gas demand from the electricity-generating sector climbed 6.5% year-on-year in November and was also a record high for the month, the EIA said. Residential gas demand rose 12.3% year-on-year in November and was the highest for the month since 2002, EIA data show.
