    IHS Inc. has acquired Global Insight Inc. for $118 million in cash and 1.3 million shares of IHS common stock, valued at about $47 million. The company was subsequently renamed IHS Global Insight. Global Insight has estimated 2008 revenues of $120 million. The firm provides comprehensive economic, financial and political coverage of more than 200 countries and regions, spanning 170 industries. IHS Global Insight has approximately 700 employees and 25 offices in 14 countries covering North and South America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia. E&P enterprise software provider Paradigm announced the opening of its new training facility in Aberdeen, Scotland. The full-time facility offers high-performance workstations running Linux and Windows operating systems, complete with twin, 24-in. flat-screen monitors, which utilize the company’s multi-canvas workflow-based software. Computational equipment is complemented by dual overhead projection and Interactive White Board (IWB) technology.
