Ceona appoints executive VP of business development
LONDON -- Ceona has appointed Mark Preece as the company’s executive vice president of commercial and business development. Preece will begin work with the area of offshore construction, engineering and project management in June 2013.
Before joining Ceona, Preece was CEO at tier two subsea start-up company Reef Subsea; senior VP of business development and marketing at Acergy; and managing director with Bibby Line. Before that, he was with Technip SA, Coflexip Stena and Stena Offshore, where he was managing director of Canada and Caspian, and senior VP of UK and international business development.
The Ceona Amazon, the company's flagship vessel, is due for completion in December 2014. The versatile rigid pipelay vessel will be equipped to execute logistical problems, and will have the capacity to carry 9,000 tonnes of pipe. Ceona has recently signed a charter agreement with Rieber for an additional deepwater flexlay vessel, the Polar Onyx. Available for operation in the SURF market from March 2014, this vessel will be chartered for five years, with the option of five additional years.
