NEW DELHI--Cairn India Ltd has sought permission to raise production from its oil field in northwestern India to 300,000 barrels a day, a senior government official said Thursday.
"We have got the proposal. The director general of hydrocarbons will take a view in one to two weeks," the government official, who didn't wish to be named, told reporters.
The company is currently producing 175,000 barrels per day from the Rajasthan field.
