BP awards plant upgrade contract to Wood Group

Wood Group has been reappointed by BP to provide engineering, modifications and maintenance (EMM) to its Sullom Voe Terminal (SVT), securing employment for approximately 100 personnel in Shetland, Glasgow and Aberdeen.

The three-year contract, with two one-year extension options, is worth approximately £25 million.   Les Thomas, Group Director responsible for Production Facilities said, 'Wood Group is delighted to have been re-awarded this contract by BP. We look forward to maintaining and strengthening our alignment with BP's drive to improve safety and efficiency.'

Wood Group is currently designing and installing BP's major upgrade to the gas processing plant at SVT which is on schedule to be completed later this year. The £multi-million refurbishment will replace the 25-year old gas processing plant with a slimmed down 21st century model to maximize efficiency.
