BG awards ARKeX contract for FTG survey in Honduras

CAMBRIDGE, United Kingdom -- ARKeX has been awarded a contract by BG Group to undertake a Full Tensor Gravity Gradiometry (FTG) survey over BG’s offshore Honduras acreage. The airborne survey encompasses all of BG’s recently awarded block (approx. 35,000 sq km).

There has been little exploration activity in Honduras in recent years and existing data is sparse. ARKeX’s airborne gravity gradiometry survey will be used to assess the hydrocarbon potential of the area and focus subsequent geophysical exploration, including 2D and 3D seismic surveys.

“FTG is the ideal technology for this exploration objective,” commented Paul Versnel, EVP Sales, ARKeX, “With a vast area to cover, an airborne survey makes perfect sense. However, only an FTG survey can deliver the high resolution data needed to make a significant impact on future exploration.”
