Apache shuts Stag, Van Gogh oil fields offshore Australia due to storm
BY STEPHEN BELL
PERTH -- Apache has shut in its Stag and Van Gogh oil fields offshore north-western Australia due to the expected passage of a tropical low in the next few days, an Apache spokesperson said.
All other Apache fields will be operating as normal, the company said.
The low lies just to the north of the Pilbara coast between Karratha and Port Hedland, and may develop into a tropical cyclone later, Australia's Bureau of Meteorology said in an update on its website.
