Anadarko: Restarting Brazil asset sale process
BY ALISON SIDER
HOUSTON -- Anadarko Petroleum is looking to sell a stake in its assets off the coast of Brazil, CFO Bob Gwin said during a conference call.
Mr. Gwin said the company determined early last year that it would look to divest its Brazilian assets, but put the sales process on ice while it considered a proposal by Brazil's regulators to join a block operated by Anadarko with an adjacent discovery and developing the two together. But that process has moved slowly, Mr. Gwin said. "We've decided recently that we'll get Brazil back on the market" he said, adding that the company is aiming to sell the assets this year.
