Almost all evacuated personnel back to work in Gulf--some production still shut in

NEW ORLEANS —Based on data from offshore operator, personnel remain evacuated on only two of the 596 manned platforms in the Gulf of Mexico. And personnel remain evacuated from one of the 76 rigs currently operating in the Gulf.

From operator reports, it is estimated that approximately 4.16% of the current daily oil production and 4.73% of the current daily natural gas production in the Gulf of Mexico has been shut-in. The production percentages are calculated using information submitted by offshore operators in daily reports.

The remaining shut-in oil and gas production has been slow to return due to damage at onshore processing facilities.
