Aker Solutions wins umbilicals contract for Tamar development

Aker Solutions has been selected to supply further subsea umbilicals for the deepwater Tamar Field development in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea by Noble Energy.

Aker Solutions said that the order from Noble, valued at approximately US$46.13 million, is an exercise of options agreed under the initial $111 million umbilical contract that was reported on 9 April this year. The latest order is for approximately 105 km of steel tube umbilicals, bringing the total order from Noble Energy up to 330 km of subsea umbilicals.

Engineering and project management will be provided from Aker Solutions' facility in Mobile, Alabama, where the umbilicals will be manufactured. Estimated delivery date is the third quarter of next year.

Noble operates the Tamar Field offshore Israel with 36% interest in partnership with Isramco Negev 2 (28.75%), Delek Drilling (15.625%), Avner Oil Exploration (15.625%), and Dor Gas Exploration (4%).
