ARKeX starts multi-client FTG survey for Barents Sea

CAMBRIDGE, UK -- ARKeX has commenced a multi-client Full Tensor Gravity Gradiometry (FTG), Gravity and Magnetic survey in the recently opened south eastern Barents Sea off the coast of Norway. The survey covers 31,920 sq km over acreage due for licence in the 23rd Norwegian Licencing Round.

The high resolution broadband data will be acquired using ARKeX’s FTG technology and will enable E&P companies to map the subsurface geology in greater detail. Gravity gradiometry measures variations in the earth’s gravitational field and is a direct measure of the density distribution of the subsurface.

The FTG survey has industry pre-funding and is still open for participation during the acquisition phase. The final processed data and qualitative interpretation is expected to be delivered in the fourth quarter.
