API reports unexpected fall in US crude supply
SAN FRANCISCO -- Crude-oil supplies fell unexpectedly for the week ended March, according to data from the American Petroleum Institute issued late.
Crude supplies declined by 1.4 MMbbl. Analysts polled by Platts were looking for a 2.3 MMbbl climb. Gasoline inventories also fell by 3.1 MMbbl, while distillate stockpiles lost 2.2 MMbbl, the trade group said. Analysts forecast a fall of 1.5 MMbbl for gasoline supplies and a 2 MMbbl decline for distillate stockpiles.
